GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision and reporting to the Director of HR and Recruiting, The HR Manager assists the Director in promoting a positive and responsive service-oriented department for our primarily remote workforce in over 29 states and 4 countries.  The HR Manager is responsible for administering all activities of the department, including benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, training and development, policies and procedures, workers’ compensation administration, and manages the recruiting and onboarding activities


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Establishes, maintains, and updates payroll records;
  • Opens and establishes new state and country entities for new payrolls as required;
  • Electronically generates and files completed onboarding materials;
  • Processes payroll data reports and other specialized reports;
  • Creates new reports with system as required;
  • Assists with all HR processes including but not limited to virtual new hire orientations, performance management, worker’s compensation, discipline, terminations, etc.;
  • Administers onboarding processes, including electronic generation and maintenance of new hire paperwork, new hire data entry into payroll system and Virtual New Hire Orientations;
  • Assists in analyzing complex information, researching, and developing solutions to complex issues;
  • Performs data entry and updates within all systems;
  • Responds to UI, STD, and LTD inquiries from various states;
  • Maintains electronic and hard copy employee files and HR documents
  • Build talent pipelines for current and future job openings
  • Manage the recruiting process from identification to onboarding of selected candidates
  • Manage and train a team of recruiters and support staff
  • Help coordinate pre-hire assessment procedures – drug testing/background check/Excel/vision test for
  • quality candidates
  • Work with hiring managers to identify staffing needs
  • Work with all members of staffing team to develop and implement staffing plans and activities
  • Review resumes for appropriate skills, experience, and knowledge for current openings
  • Conduct interviews with candidates
  • Assume primary responsibility for management of the Applicant Tracking System (JAZZ)
  • Maintain well organized documentation of all candidates, searches, interview notes and other
  • recruitment activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

  • Payroll Software (UKG, Blue Marble), MS Office, Docusign, Fidelity, Employee Navigator
  • Laws and regulations applicable to timekeeping, payroll preparation and pay reporting
  • Human Resources management practices, theories and administration
  • US and international employment legislation and compliance
  • Fair Labor Standard Act, Affordable Care Act (ACA)
  • ACA, HIPAA, FMLA and COBRA, 401(k)
  • Federal and State employment legislation
  • Principles and practices of effective management and supervision
  • ATS systems; preferably JazzHR
  • Principles and best practice of recruiting

  • Collect, obtain, evaluate and interpret technical and specialized payroll and Human Resources information correctly
  • Maintain confidentiality of company documents and records
  • Exercise discretion, tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive information
  • Manage a heavy workload and multi-task under strict timelines
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Pass pre-hire background check including drug screening

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • BS preferred and 7-10 years of related experience, including 1-year experience processing multi-state and/or international Payroll for 250+ employees. 
  • Any combination of education and experience may be considered.

Licenses & Other Requirements
  • US Person
  • CPP, PHR, SPHR preferred
  • Valid Drivers’ License
  • Valid Auto Insurance


WORKING CONDITIONS
Productivity:
Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.
Mobility: Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Vision: enough to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.
Environment: Typical home office conditions, working directly with Senior Management, local and remote staff members.
Other Factors: Typical hours worked are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Incumbents may be required to work occasional extended hours.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk (approximately 1-2 miles a day); sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.

Pay Range: $70,000-90,000 annually. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
