Under general supervision and reporting to the Sr. Director Operations, the Commodity Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, logistics, and delivery of required commodity in a timely and costeffective manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, manufacturing, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex commodities. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of components for our product development and manufacturing needs

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • In collaboration with the Kuiper Purchaser’s Commodity Team, Contractor will provide Services requested by Purchaser, including: 
  • Lead initiatives to scale up component deliverables into stable & affordable high-rate production with onsite visibility into supplier manufacturing operations, support line of balances and cost reconciliations and reporting. 
  • Assist Supplier Quality and Manufacturing Engineering w/ onsite Supplier Audits and assessments to ensure quality and reliability. 
  • Ensure hardware is purchased and tracked from the suppliers accurately based on business requirements and delivery schedules. 
  • Contribute to the creation of White Papers and other strategic documentation for Purchaser’s use by providing data-driven insights and analysis that support the organization's objectives and initiatives and other assistance requested by Purchaser. 
  • Responsible for supporting activities with Manufacturers including demand changes, process changes and inventory management at the supplier. 
  • Act as an intermediary between Purchaser and suppliers to facilitate communication and cooperation. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand component requirements for ongoing projects. 
  • Create and manage procurement plans, ensuring the timely ordering of materials based on demand forecasts. 
  • Be Main “Boots on the Ground”, onsite support at Supplier to monitor delivery schedules and status of Designs in WIP at supplier. 
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels and efficient inventory management. 
  • Coordinate the movement of components from suppliers to manufacturing facilities, optimizing supply chain processes. 
  • Monitor and report on cost-saving initiatives, cost structures, and adherence to budget for the commodity. 
  • Ensure compliance with company Amazon policies, applicable laws and regulations, and industry standards related to procurement and data handling 
  • Gather and organize data from various sources, including financial records, project schedules, purchase requirements, Purchaser’s specifications and other requirements, and supplier performance metrics. 
  • Maintain records of vendor interactions, issues, and resolutions, as well as regular evaluations of vendor performance. 
  • Collaborate with various teams to assist in gathering Supplier Reporting, Document sharing, process improvement implementation progress updates. 
  • Foster strong and productive relationships with required suppliers and other vendors. 
  • Address and resolve vendor-related issues, including disputes, delivery delays, and quality concerns. 
  • Evaluate vendor performance and work on continuous improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Aerospace Commodity management or related fields, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Any combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Fluent English – reading and writing is required
