Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer (QE) utilizes a wide range of knowledge and skills to lead, plan, execute, and
control the Supplier Base activities under Projects and Programs for Manufacturing Engineering. They are
the Point of Contact for all interfacing of Quality / Manufacturing Engineering activities and issues with
Suppliers. QE is the Technical Liaison for Quality Production Processes, which would include Inspection
and Production, and must have a good knowledge and proactive interaction with respective
Program/Customer and Work In-Process issues. Their resource is a Value-Added technical and
provisional support to Quality Engineering and the Quality Supply Chain organizational structure. The QE
works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, QC Inspection (R/I, WIP, Final) Manufacturing Assembly,
Production Control and Shipping to verify and validate Production issues which assure OTD and
Production Schedule issues. QE also develops Inspection Plans, specification, and validation
requirements for Suppliers. Leads investigations into Root Cause and Corrective Action of Process and
Operation anomalies and defects related to Supplier Issues. Supports a role with the Material Review
Board (MRB) for Supplier non-conformances. QE is the liaison between QA and the Functional
organizations to insure processes are continuously monitored and improved at High Risk Suppliers. QE’s
are emphasized as leadership and mentoring resources to the Quality Engineering activities in a parallel
support effort within Production. Must be prolific in their communication and writing skills and have a
mindset of Validation.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Supplier Quality Engineering Oversight at Supplier facilities (As designated by GAC)
• Perform Source Inspections as required as represented by GAC with Supplier(s).
• Review and evaluation of MRB and reducing Scrap and Rework,
• Investigation/validation of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA),
• Identifying the “Hidden Factory” and implementing Continuous Improvement Techniques,
• Failure Analysis and Reporting
• Guidance of Supply Chain recovery plans
• Support daily Quality Notification activity acting in GAC interest,
• Heavy emphasis on Process Improvements and Standardization of Processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in technical discipline (e.g., Industrial Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management, etc.) with 5+ years of Hands-on experience as a
Quality Engineering in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment. In lieu of a Degree, 8+ years of
hands-on experience as a Quality Engineering in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment

• Prior experience in areas of Quality Engineering such as: DOE, FMEA, SPC, RCCA, controls plans,
material control, process control, systems performance, product evaluation, MSA, metrology,
automated measurement and software is preferred.
• Prior working knowledge and experience with ISO9100 and AS9100
• Working knowledge and experience with Aircraft Parts and Material Conformity Inspections
• 3-5 years FAI experience with AS9102 (FAI) Protocol
• Hands-on inspection experience and ability to use basic inspection tools and equipment (e.g.
calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
• Hands-on experience or working knowledge of Special Processes (i.e., heat treating, welding, NDT)
• Working knowledge and experience with inspection methods, techniques and protocols.
• Strong understanding of Engineering Mechanical Processes, Standard Drawings Conventions,
Interpreting Drawing Specifications and GD&T
• 5-7 years’ experience hands-on experience with the AS9100 Quality Management Systems Processes, especially in Production, Quality, and logistics
• Knowledge of or hands on experience (Preferred) with FAA, EAR, and ITAR standards and
regulations
• Experience leading customer audits
• Strong verbal, written and communication skills
• Project management, time management, problem solving and organization skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work as an effective team member

• MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
• Computer proficiency is required
• Team-minded, communicative, being proactive, stress resistant, assertiveness
• excellent presentation skills

Pay Range
$45.00 to $53.00 per hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
