Supplier Quality Engineer Level 3
General Summary
Under general supervision and reporting to the Senior Director of Quality Operations, the Supplier Quality Engineer Level 3 serves as a vital link between TRIGO ADR and our Prime Aerospace or Defense customers. The Supplier Quality Engineer is a “hands on” role that will identify and drive projects to improve Delivery, Quality and Cost performance within the Supply Chain. The Supplier Quality activities are focused on product and process performance for all production including New Programs, Current Production and Legacy, providing the link between Group Quality, Procurement and Supplier interacting with all relevant functions as required. The Supplier Quality Engineer will ensure the day-to-day project execution & coordination at the Supplier. The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for the development of our supplier base. Will utilize expertise in Quality, Purchasing, and Operations and will be deployed to our suppliers to ensure continuous improvement of their operations as well as containment of situations.

- Leadership and Management: Guide and lead a production team in the assembly and testing of electronic and/or mechanical products
- Performance Accountability: Take full ownership of safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance for a multi-cell/multi-shift operation
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities using Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact daily with other functions such as technical support, engineering, facilities, production control, and finance to meet organizational goals
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans, including creating current and future state value stream maps
- Customer and Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and program deliverables
- Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:- Quality Management Systems (QMS) and QMS auditing
- Process Improvement and other “toolbox” processes (i.e., DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP, APQP, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TAKT, 5Why, 8D, Poka-Yoke, etc.)
- Aerospace quality, engineering, and manufacturing
- ITAR standards and regulations; USG FAR and DFAR.
- Quality metrology functions (gage calibration / verification process)
- Quality containment activities (MRB, quality walls, Return to green plans Gant charts)
- Engineering Processes, Standard Drawings Conventions, Interpreting Drawing, Specifications, and GD&T
- Risk registries or similar forms.
- MS Office

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical discipline; master’s degree preferred
- Manufacturing Quality Experience 20+ years
- Aerospace experience required 15+ years
- Quality Management System development and implementation
- Supply chain management and supplier development experience
- Program / Project Management experience
- 10+ years FAI experience with AS9102 (FAI) Protocol
- Hands-on inspection experience and ability to use basic inspection tools and equipment (e.g. calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Working knowledge and experience with inspection methods, techniques, and protocols
- Strong understanding of Engineering Mechanical Processes, Standard Drawings Conventions, Interpreting Drawing, Specifications and GD&T
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- US citizenship required
- Fluent English – reading and writing is required
- Pass pre-hire background check including DMV and credit screening
- Pass Pre-hire Drug Screening
WORKING CONDITIONS
Productivity: Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.
Mobility: Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Vision: Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.
Environment: Typical office conditions, directly working Quality management team, working with the SMS team, and external customers.
Other Factors: Typical hours worked are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Incumbents may be required to work occasional extended hours and weekend overtime.
The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk (approximately 1-2 miles a day); sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will occasionally drive long distances to and from various suppliers as needed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
